What is the cancellation policy at Cloudrift Breakaways?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations made more than 14 days before check-in receive a full refund minus a 10% administration fee. Cancellations made 7 to 14 days before check-in receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before check-in are non-refundable, and no refund is provided for a no-show.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 14:00 and no later than 18:00, and check-out is by 11:00. Early check-in runs from 12:00 to a maximum of two hours before standard check-in, and late check-out is a maximum of one additional hour, to 12:00. Both are subject to availability, charged per unit, and confirmed in writing by management.

Are pets allowed at Cloudrift?

Yes, pets are welcome with prior written approval. Full details including breed, size, and temperament must be disclosed at booking. Pets must remain in designated areas and may not be left unattended. The property is fenced except along the river boundary.

Is there a refundable damage deposit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A refundable damage deposit is payable upfront on direct bookings, at R5,000 for the Luxury Villa and R2,500 for the Boathouse Bungalow and Garden Cottage. It is refunded after departure, once management has completed the post-departure inspection and issued a written inspection clearance report.

How many guests can stay at each property?

The Luxury Villa accommodates up to 10 guests (8 adults max or 6 adults with 5 children). The Garden Cottage accommodates up to 6 guests (6 adults max or 4 adults with 4 children). The Boathouse Bungalow accommodates up to 4 guests (4 adults max or 2 adults with 3 children).

Is the swimming pool fenced?

The property features an open, unfenced swimming pool without a safety net. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times when near the pool area.

Can I launch a boat from the property?

Accepted Answer

Cloudrift does not have an on-site boat launch, but an exclusive arrangement with a nearby facility is available. A valid Skipper's License and Buoyancy Certificate are required. Launch fee is R250 per vessel (cash only), with hours from 08:00-15:00.

Is WiFi available?

Accepted Answer

Yes, high-speed fibre WiFi is available throughout all properties at Cloudrift.

What happens during power outages?

The Luxury Villa and Garden Cottage are equipped with UPS battery systems for essential outlets. Emergency lighting and rechargeable torches are provided. A backup generator is available for extended outages.

Are food delivery services available?

Mr D, Woolworths and Pick n Pay do not deliver to Cloudrift. Uber Eats and Checkers Sixty60 may reach us, depending on the restaurant or store, so enter 236 Stocchi Avenue, Vaalview in the app to check before you arrive. The nearest supermarkets are about 12 to 20 km away by road, in Vanderbijlpark and Sasolburg, so it is best to bring your groceries with you. Please meet delivery drivers at the estate entrance.
